Process
Key steps in our investment process include:
Designing Your Portfolio
After meeting with you, we identify financial objectives and establish risk tolerance, time horizon, and investment expectations. By understanding where you are today and where you wish to be tomorrow, we can back into an appropriate asset allocation and investment strategy. Periodically, we will review the portfolio to determine if any changes or modifications are necessary.
Transitioning Existing Holdings
Your existing portfolio may already hold a variety of investments. We will work with you to transition those holdings successfully and efficiently. We will attempt to identify your riskiest holdings first, keeping in mind that long-held shares with a low cost basis may not make sense to sell at the present time.
Beginning Your New Portfolio
We will develop and refine a model portfolio that we feel reflects your needs and goals as well as the current and anticipated market environment. We will transition your portfolio to this ideal model in a way that makes sense for you.
Monitoring Your Investments
We will stay in communication and hold ongoing meetings to discuss your holdings, performance, investment outlook, and possible strategic responses to reflect unfolding market conditions.
Making Changes
We constantly watch your portfolio and its contents, so you don’t have to. Ultimately, your investments are dynamic stories of people, businesses, and change. We track behavior and news related to your holdings, as well as monitoring market conditions and developments at several different levels. Using our best judgment, we take action as needed to take a profit, limit risk, or otherwise adjust your portfolio to ensure it continues to meet your goals as market conditions evolve.
Reporting to You
You will receive monthly statements, quarterly investment reports as well as an annual report and annual tax summary.
